The current layout of the house includes five spaces: the foyer, kitchen, dining room, living room, and study room. These spaces are interconnected, but the small size of the house can make them feel cramped. To create a sense of spaciousness while preserving the functionality of each area, we separated the spaces and analyzed areas of functional overlap. We then minimized unnecessary elements such as cabinetry, walls, and pathways. As a result, the dining table is now integrated with the foyer's high cabinet, serving as a barrier between the foyer and kitchen and providing a sense of stability in the living room.Additionally, the design of the foyer also softens the feeling of being close to the door, making the use of the dining table more stable. The dining table integrated with the high cabinet in the foyer also creates a primary pathway to the living room and a secondary pathway to the dining room, allowing for different sequences of life depending on the usage by the house owner and guests.
